Electronic communications and consent
Last updated: October 19, 2026
1. Electronic records and signatures
Where you tick a box or type your name to accept a proposal, agreement or other document on our website or portal, you agree that the record and your acceptance are electronic. The acceptance is recorded with the document version, the date and time, your IP address and your browser details. This is intended to be a legally binding signature under the federal Electronic Signatures in Global and National Commerce Act (15 U.S.C. § 7001 et seq.) and the Michigan Uniform Electronic Transactions Act (MCL 450.831 et seq.).
Where a document is signed on paper, we record the date and the name on the signed copy, and keep the signed copy.
2. What you need
An internet-connected device, a current web browser, an email address you check, and software that can display or save PDF documents.
3. Email we send
Account and security email: invitations, password resets, sign-in notices and access changes.
Project and business email: proposals, invoices, receipts, message alerts, and booking confirmations.
Marketing email: we send it only with your agreement, and every marketing email has an unsubscribe link.
Unsubscribing from marketing does not stop account, security or legal messages.
Message alerts from the client portal say only that you have a new message, and link you to the portal. The message text is not included in email.
4. Text messages
We do not send text messages at this time. If we ever do, we will ask for your separate consent first, and every message will explain how to stop.
5. Withdrawing consent
You can withdraw your consent to electronic records by contacting us. This does not affect records and signatures already completed. If electronic delivery is essential to a service, we will tell you what that means before we act on the withdrawal.
6. Consent records
We keep a record of each electronic acceptance: the document, its version, the time, the account, the method and the IP address. These records are kept for at least seven years, as described in the Privacy Policy.
7. Paper copies
You can ask for a paper copy of any electronic record at no charge.
